Community engagement is critical to ensure CLEAR Plans reflect the diverse perspectives, needs, interests, and watersheds within Wayne County. CLEAR activities employed innovative public outreach strategies to engage the full array of community stakeholders as outlined in the Public Engagement Plan. Online discussion of potential resilience-building actions to include in the Wayne region CLEAR plan. Includes presentation of final CLEAR vision, impact scenarios, and resilience scenarios. See recording on this page.

Online discussion on how to turn risks into opportunities for shoreline communities. Participants heard about the outcomes of public survey #1 and the risk assessment for shoreline communities in Wayne County. They discussed needs and opportunities for increasing resilience to identified risks.
Public Survey #1
June 10th - July 8th
This survey invited the public to share how their community is being affected by changing lake conditions. The survey was advertised through email distribution lists, local media channels, social media, and flyers. An offline SMS survey was also made available.

Agenda: With the help of hi-definition maps, the committee took a birds-eye tour of the shoreline, noting important economic, community, and natural features located in shoreline risk areas. These were added to an existing list to create a first draft for review and comment.
